OUR GOAL
We aim to create the best, most comprehensive reference list of locations and roads to watch the sunrise and sunset. We know MANY people out there love to experience these majestic views, but may not know where to go or how to get there. WE ARE YOUR SOLUTION!
OUR METHODS
It started off as taking leisure rides down local rural roads and turned into a mission to create a Rolodex to refer back to whenever we craved a place to get away or wanted to take a quick road trip. We quickly realized that this index was likely something that others could benefit from and decided to expand our driving radius. We still commit to taking new drives and finding new roads and locations every week. However, the only way the create the BEST possible list is with the help of our followers! We are always searching for new ideas for roads and off-the-beaten-path spots that we cannot necessarily get to or simply are not aware of. That means we need people from all over the world to contribute to this list. We know you’re out there, and we’re hoping you’re willing to share your sun-chasing knowledge with us. We are a small group with a big dream and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
OUR SYSTEM
What makes a sunrise or sunset worthy of our list? It’s simple really: we’ve come up with a rating system based on a few basic parameters.
VIEW: is the view picture-worthy? Is it a view you’d want to share with others? If yes, SHARE IT!
LOCATION: how accessible and well-know is this site? We specialize in the more unknown, off-the-beaten- path locations, so those typically get higher ratings, but all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!
SEASON: time of year is a huge factor in determining which sun-watching spots to prioritize. Tree blockage, snowy roads, foliage views and general weather conditions are all taken into consideration when rating sites.
JOURNEY: arguably equally as important as the site is the journey to the viewing point. If there are open, East-West spanning roads involved in the trip, the score is likely a going to be higher.
OTHER DETAILS: other parameters such a parking, foot traffic, privacy, noisiness, etc. are all taken into account when rating sites.

The easiest way to share your sites with us is via social media on Instagram, Reddit or TikTok. You can also shoot us an email or any other other contact options on our CONTACT US page.

We are primarily located in the DMV (D.C, Maryland and Virginia) area, but travel extensively up and down the Eastern seaboard.

Unfortunately, we are not able to travel to every site suggested or shared with us, but we do substantial research into the locations, roads and areas that are shared with us to ensure that the meet the level of our standard to be included on our list.

We do not currently have the bandwidth to include international research in our list, but please feel free to share your suggestions with us! We archive everything and we’ll make sure to include what we can on lists in the future!
